Have you been wondering what’s going on with f-Assets?

Our cherished SGB and FLR tokens have yet to realise any use case, we all know they will come alive once they are used as collateral for F-assets, but when?!!?

Well, there’s no point asking the Flare team who now call the F-Assets paper a ‘concept’, they have stepped back from any engagement with F-Assets and haven’t included the project roadmap in their website updates.

We have reached out to several public figures across the Flare ecosystem to try and get some answers, here’s the general consensus:

Self minting is likely coming soon:

It was widely agreed that self minting F-Assets will be pretty straight forward with no real friction, users will simply put up their own collateral to mint their own assets.

Their were a few comments that network validators are not yet sufficiently decentralised to allow self minting.

Flare API updates have been frequent and any third party could in theory build a platform for F-Assets right now.

So, What If They Did?

Lets assume that tomorrow S-Assets & F-Asset minting is live, even if it is just self minting, where could they be deployed?

Any one of us could mint an asset, say SXRP, create a liquidity pool and start earning fees on a Songbird DEX. This would happen almost immediately as early minters look to earn maximum percentages of DEX trading fees.

There has been no announcement withdrawing FLR rewards for minting F-Assets, most of the community would jump on the chance to mint their assets and add additional earnings to their delegation rewards and FlareDrops.

What about use cases by projects?

Most of the projects we spoke to are in the Flare ecosystem already and would enable things like NFT purchasing with F-Assets and Defi services, nice to hear but nothing too ground breaking.

One project did tickle our fancy though, Spend The Bits, an XRP ledger based transaction platform.

We are always excited to see an external project talking about using Flare protocols so we reached out to them.

They offered these interesting insights.

‘We will be using Flare to enable FBTC trustless transactions.’

and:

‘Our goal is to achieve the highest level of decentralization possible through its implementation.’

CEN Updates.

The First Bonus CEN Distribution, paid for by newsletter advertising revenue:

Bonus CEN is purchased on the open market then distributed to CEN wallets weighted by the amount of CEN already held.

Since launching in early February we have ran two types of ads.

The first was a test of what we could achieve on a commission basis.

The KELLS Game promotion was structured as such that we would be paid 50% of the sales we generated.

The game demo was downloaded many times but no sales were generated.

Advertising revenue generated: $0

Our second promotion took place over 5 emails and promoted FinanceBuzz.

We had high hopes for this promotion, as the deal was worth $1 per click.

At the time of the announcement we had over 20,000 subscribers.

Over the 5 emails that included the advertisements 13,366 subscribers opened them.

Out of 13,366 opened emails there were 135 clicks.

Total revenue generated: $135.00

Bonus CEN Distribution Details:

The Bonus CEN distribution will take place today along with the usual weekly CEN airdrops.

As mentioned in previous announcements rewards will be awarded by percentage of CEN owned.

Any wallets holding less than 2,000 CEN will be excluded to prevent dilution.

58,285 Bonus CEN will be distributed.
