Real World Crypto Adoption Powered By Flare...

CEN here, back with more vitamin D ☀️, easy to swallow with no bitter after taste.. 👊

Today we bring you:

  • A proper real world use case for crypto and it’s being built on Flare. The answer to the question ‘Crypto! What’s it even used for?!?! at your next festive shindig. 👊

Let’s dig into E8t (say ‘eat’).

Can you imagine what it takes to be the number one rated restaurant in London?

A blogger named Oobah Butler created a fake TripAdvisor account for a non-existent restaurant simply named 'The Shed at Dulwich'. Literally the dudes battered garden shed.

Oobah asked his mates to submit positive reviews for this none existent restaurant, having never served a single meal he was soon ranked #1 on TripAdvisor and inundated with booking requests.

This all happened back in 2017, Oobah enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame on prime time tv, when quizzed about the morals of his fake restaurant he said he was simply highlighting how easy it is to rig the game on review sites.

All that publicity must have turned a few heads right?!

The review sites got to work and fixed things right?

Erm, not quite…

You can still leave a review for any business without ever having stepped foot in the place.

Almost any venue in the whole wide world ’! The market for a trusted and robust review system is truly mind blowing.

That’s why the first Cloud Funding project to launch on Songbird Network is so exciting, offering a proper real world use case for crypto, by disrupting a huge market that every day folk can understand.

E8T.app are using tech such as QR codes, geo fencing and Flare Networks, to tackle the huge problem of fake reviews.

Data will be harnessed to:

  • Verify that reviewers are legit customers

  • Tailor special offers

  • Track marketing performance for venues

To name just a few use cases…

E8T.app are looking to disrupt a huge market and you can be rewarded for getting involved at this early stage.

On January 30th the CloudFunding raise on Songbird allows you to donate a share of your delegation rewards in return for E8T rewards.

More details will be revealed through their Xwitter profile, be sure to give them a follow.

The team at E8T were kind enough to have an informal chin wag:

What is your experience in the hospitality world?

At E8T, our team consists of three dedicated founders. Steve brings over 6 years of experience as the owner of The Bedford Pub in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

This establishment will serve as the ideal testing ground for some of the exciting features of the E8T app.

James, our innovative co-founder, achieved success with his previous venture, Brunchy, in Dubai. Brunchy was a highly regarded app that helped users discover happy hours and exclusive offers throughout the city."

When did you realise there was a problem with reviews and how easy to manipulate they were?

As pub owners we've encountered our fair share of fake or malicious reviews.

Our situation is unique because we share the same name with another popular venue that offers live music. This has led to some of their reviews mistakenly appearing on our profile, and vice versa.

Additionally, we've faced a series of negative reviews stemming from an interview we conducted about Covid Passports, which was featured on BBC/ITV.

Surprisingly, these reviews have come from individuals located hundreds of miles away who have never even visited our wonderful pub.

All of these challenges could have been easily resolved with E8T, which offers trusted reviews using geo-fencing and blockchain technology, ensuring that only genuine and location-based feedback appears.

E8T is set to be a game changer for increasing attendance to venues. When did you have your ‘a ha’ moment and start planning the E8T project?

James and I were just chatting over beers in the kitchen, talking about our past projects. We discussed his successful app, Brunchy, which had lots of users. But James had trouble convincing venues to subscribe because he couldn't prove how many people actually visited those places through the app.

We also talked about how using social media ads for my pub wasn't effective, and we couldn't tell if the money we spent actually brought people into the pub. That's when it hit me – modern technology like blockchain, geofencing, and Bluetooth could solve these problems. We even thought about creating a crypto token to reward and incentivize people, which would solve it all."

There are 100s on blockchain networks. Why are you building on Flare Network?

We chose Flare Network for our project because it excels in several critical areas.

Firstly, it offers strong interoperability, scalability, and decentralization, ensuring our project can grow securely and efficiently.

Flare Network's commitment to security and its proven track record were also key factors in our decision. Moreover, its cross-chain compatibility and low transaction fees enhance the overall cost-effectiveness and versatility of our project. Additionally, the network's efficiency and governance capabilities provide us with a reliable and innovative foundation to build upon.

You are the first project to launch on CloudFunding. Can you give a quick explanation of what the platform is.

Cloudfunding is a groundbreaking crowdfunding platform that empowers communities to support innovative projects. We're thrilled to be the first project to launch on this platform, where individuals come together to fund and drive exciting ventures. It's a new era of decentralized, community-driven finance, offering opportunities for everyone to participate in shaping the future.

Sum up the E8T project in one sentence.
